India based antivirus firm K7 Computing responded to the current Covid-19 crisis by committing to provide its cybersecurity products free for laptops, desktops, Android smartphones and endpoint protection in the organisations.
Thousands of businesses and workforce have been forced to work from home in the country, relying on the internet connections at their houses to keep businesses and services running. The antivirus company is also extending this offer to every country affected by coronavirus worldwide.

Cyberattack & Phishing threat
Cyberthreats & phishing have been on the rise due to the coronavirus pandemic in India. Cyber-criminals are exploiting interest in the crises to carry out malicious activity using several spam campaigns revolving around the outbreak. The real-world telemetry data from K7 Labs for the period February 2 to March 25 indicates that there is a 30 per cent increase in cyber attacks including phishing and malware attacks with 1,756 blocked malicious instances specifically using the Covid-19 theme.
